A Rose By Any Other Name is a documentary which looks at the lives of Grace and Turlough, two children with two very different special needs and their experiences of mainstream school. Grace has achondroplasia a form of dwarfism and is in primary seven getting ready to continue her mainstream education in secondary school. Turlough who suffers from Asperger Syndrome is 14 years old and preparing for his GCSE’s. We gain insight through their parents and various other figures in their school lives as to what mainstream school is really like for them. The biggest insight of all comes from the children who speak openly and honestly about what it is like to be different from the classmates.

Turlough speaking of this says “We are all different, it’s just that there is a name for why I’m different…a rose by any other name could smell as sweet”.
