Robert Hoy talks to us about his experiences in serving in the Royal Engineers in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, and how it affected him. Sammy Cole, who served in Cyprus from 1957 – ’58, remembers the conflict, he still has a strong connection to the island. Andy Fee discusses the role of the Veterans of the island of Ireland Association in commemorating the sacrifice of ex servicemen.

Albert Haslett discusses his memories of the Belfast Blitz, in particular the bombing of Percy Street with George Quigley, Freida and Briege, who were children during the Blitz, and remember the rationing of food and clothing and how they hid from German bombers.
